My name is Lynsey Hyland, I’m a freelance artist in Faversham, Kent.  Oh and I’m also a freelance green badge Tour Guide in Canterbury…just to keep me busy

After finishing at the Kent Institute of Art & Design in 1999, I was lucky enough to land on my feet and straight into a contract at The Maidstone Studios, as an Art Researcher on CITV’s ‘make and do’ art programme Art Attack….that’s me in the front, on Neil Buchanan’s right!

The creative flare for sculpting in paper and card began to grow!

In the following 8 years, I worked on several children’s programme – Art Attack, Mister Maker, Finger Tips and Zzzapp.

When Art Attack came to an end in 2007, a career change soon followed and the art took a back seat for a few years. But in 2018 I had the opportunity to get back into Kids TV with Terrific Television Ltd, and to date I’ve worked on –

My World Kitchen ( CBeebies), HOW (CITV), Popcast ( CBeebies) The Markery (Sky Kids) The Makery US (Sky Kids)

However…in the 10 year break in television, I really missed the creative buzz so in 2014 Creative Mash Ups was born!

I work in a range of mediums, predominantly sculpting in news paper and papier mache, also  3D needle felting.
I create a wide verity of colourful and unique pieces which include stags, hares, rodents to mythical creatures, altered books, book nooks to private commissions

I run workshops in newspaper sculpting & papier mache and needle felting.

You can often find me at local events but I regularly display and sell my work in this fabulous shop :-
