Lynsey Hyland a freelance artist living in working in Faversham, Kent
After finishing at the Kent Institute of Art & Design in 1999, I was lucky enough to land on my feet and straight into a contract at The Maidstone Studios, as an Art Researcher on CITV’s ‘make and do’ art programme Art Attack. (that’s me in the front, on Neil Buchanan’s right!)
The creative flare for sculpting in paper and card began to grow!
In the following 8 years, I worked on several children’s programme – Art Attack, Mister Maker, Finger Tips and Zzzapp.
When Art Attack came to an end in 2007, a career change soon followed and the art took a back seat for a few years. But after missing the creative buzz, Creative Mash Up’s was born in 2014.
I now work in a range of mediums, predominantly sculpting in news paper and papier mache, and more recently in 3D felting.
I create a wide verity of colourful and unique pieces which include stags, hares, rodents to mythical creatures, altered books to private commissions
I run workshops in newspaper sculpting & papier mache and felting, as well as crafting parties in your home.
You can often find me at local events but I regularly display and sell my work in these fabulous shops :-
Walrus & Oyster Emporium, Canterbury
Made By Kent, Staplehurst
Kent Loves…, Lenham
